CARRYING A TORCH

I lost my light
Along the way
While walking in the dark

I turned my head
And when I looked
I could not see a spark

Alone and blind
I stumble on
Just searching for that glow

I hit my head
And often fall
I've never walked so slow

Though I could have
Another light
It would not be the same

To see that path
I need to tread
I must light my old flame
